Chandelier Lighting Retrofitting

Stanford HealthCare
Redwood City

APS successfully completed a complex LED retrofit of a 200-fixture chandelier installed approximately 30 feet above finished floor level within an active healthcare environment. Prior to installation, APS conducted a detailed lighting study to evaluate and specify LED fixtures and materials that would deliver improved illumination levels while increasing energy efficiency, reducing heat output, and extending operational lifespan to minimize long-term maintenance.

The scope required precise planning and specialized equipment mobilization. APS implemented floor protection measures and engineered weight distribution strategies to prevent damage to existing tile surfaces during access and staging.

The team coordinated a full shutdown of the main electrical panel, executed under strict lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure safety and compliance. All work was performed during after-hours to avoid disruption to patient care and facility operations.

The completed retrofit enhanced lighting performance, reduced energy consumption, and aligned the system with current healthcare facility standards while preserving the integrity of the surrounding environment.
