UCSF
2001 Embarcadero

APS supported UCSF in upgrading egress conditions for the 3rd floor terrace at 2001 The Embarcadero. The project scope included selective demolition, construction of new egress pathways, structural reinforcement, and lighting improvements to meet current accessibility, fire life safety, and building code standards. The work encompassed installation of new storefront elements, structural concrete work, and modifications to architectural features to facilitate safe exit access from the terrace area.

Electrical upgrades included a new lighting layout and surface-mounted conduit work, as well as updates to the main switchboard circuiting. The project complied with applicable 2022 California Building Codes and received approvals from the Designated Campus Fire Marshal, the Building Official, and 4LEAF inspectors. APS ensured strict adherence to UCSF’s construction protocols, including maintaining accessibility, minimizing disruption, and meeting CALGreen requirements.
